For the last 46 years Tom has been designing and building custom homes and crafting cabinetry. During 30 years of those 46 years, he was with the National Park Service.
Tom states “My personal philosophy of woodworking, has always been to provide a, “second life” for precious timber resources as
enhancements to our daily lives. I particularly enjoy fulfilling com-missions by completing projects that provide deep personal connections for my customers.”
Tom enjoys foraging in the Great Pacific Northwest for much of the
wood he uses in creating his wood-turned art. He strives to use wood
species, grains and figures that are uniquely intriguing in rustic yet
elegant finished pieces.
Tom has won many awards including the 2020 & 2021 American Association of Woodturners Symposium Instant Gallery (Natural/Edge Salad Bowl) and two First Place and one Second Place awards for Driftwood Woodturnings and Driftwood Sculpture respectively.
He has been a member of the American Association of Woodturners
since the early 1990’s. He is also a member of the Art Association of
